Researchers at the Policy Studies Institute in the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment invite staff and students to training on action research and participatory methods of social research. The session will be led by Ben Fagan-Watson and Dr Isis Nunez-Ferrera, whose action research experience covers a variety of issues, such as housing, food, water, and risks to public health from hot weather; conducted in international contexts including Honduras, Brazil, India, Turkey, Kenya, Ecuador, Colombia and the UK.

The training will outline the theoretical foundations of action research and ethical implications of this approach and will give practical guidance on how to ‘co-produce’ knowledge with community members, professionals, policymakers and service providers.

This is a session that would suit beginners or those looking to refresh their knowledge of these research methods. The training will take place in Marylebone; refreshments will be provided.
